I did my part for energy conservation today! WOOHOO me!!!! Our plan for the day: clean up the house, get our adjustments from akdoc, head to church, head home. Several things to get done but all in town and really not too far from each other. The weather said rain so I wasn’t looking forward to that. However, my daughter asked to walk to akdoc’s office. I thought, well, it’s going to rain so probably not. “Ok, we will if it’s not raining.” Yeah, apparently God wanted me to move my behind today. We didn’t do much for cleaning the house – well, I did some. (But, I got my scrapbook paper organized!!) We walked a mile to akdoc’s office and picked almost every dandelion along the way it seems. I did drive to pick up lunch but used his car and it would have been done anyway. Then, we walked a mile from there to church – possibly a little more than a mile but I haven’t measured. I hung out there and did some work stuff. After we were done there, we walked a mile home. So, the children and I ended up walking a little over 3 miles today. That beats the 2 miles I normally do on the treadmill. The kicker is that I’m not even tired. Because it was spread out, I was able to recover just fine and still kept getting my heart rate up. Yeah cardio!!!!!! (For those that are wondering, my weight will not drop below 130. So, I’m coming to terms with that and will try again when our youngest is finished nursing. I have no idea when that will be so don’t hold your breathe! LOL)
Thinking about doing something takes a lot less time than actually doing it! I’m slowly plugging my way through the 11 books I have to read and write reports on for the BirthWorks training. I like them but I’m so tired of reading right now! LOL I’m on book 7 – Birthing in the Spirit. It’s an awesome book but I don’t think I’m getting as much out of it right now because of overload.
It’s dance season!!!! Recital is next weekend. It looks like most of the classes are good on their dances! YEAH!!! I’m tired of hearing all the same songs every week but the kids love it so ……….. My two really want to wear their costumes. Which reminds me, I need to get schedule with the photographer for their pictures. I always do the group pictures and 1 picture with their teacher at the studio then take them to our family photographer for all the other shots. I let them do whatever they want and go through the proofs later. They have fun. I’m class mom for both kids this year!!!! I love doing that. I get the best shots of all the kids in the class that I’d never see otherwise. So many parents don’t want to help at all and I just don’t get it. So, what do you get for a boy at recital? We always get our daughter flowers and a small gift but I’m at a loss for my son. He’s only 6 but I have no clue!!!
I’ve been busy trying to figure out what projects to do around the house. Akdoc said I can do whatever I want for mother’s day this weekend so I’m painting!!!!!! I’m starting with the entry way (since it’s mostly done already), then moving on to the 2 kids bedrooms. Now, please remember that they are 8 and 6 and have very messy rooms right this moment. A lot of their stuff will need to go into the living room which won’t be so much fun but I want those rooms done!! My plan is to have all the bedrooms painted by the end of the summer. I’d also like to do some landscaping out front and in the back. However, Akdoc wants to see about the bigger projects around here. There might be a bit of a power struggle soon! LOL No, he is the head of the house so I will defer to him (he does what I really want anyway so it’s a win win for me) the majority of the time. We work well together in that we both want to make the other happy as often as possible. It’s kept us together for 20 years and married for almost 13 years so it seems to work. On the plus side, all the projects will hopefully keep me too busy to eat and maybe I’ll finally lose the last 20 pounds!!!!
Children are calling so I need to run. Hope you enjoyed the quick update!!!
